About My Clients
Are relationships stressing you out? It could be relationship with yourself--you cannot accept yourself; It could be relationship with your partner--the same issue continues after hundreds of communication; It could be relationship with your child- you are running out of ways helping them regulate emotionally and/or behaviorally. You are frustrated and tired of not making progresses. I get it. Let's work together and I will help you build and practice new patterns that actually work.
My Background and Approach
I identify as person of color and an ally for any group "deviating from the social norm." Cross-cultural experiences helped me foster bi-cultural identity, cultivate critical thinking ability, and develop unique perspectives and effective strategies in addressing clinical issues. My practice focuses on improving clients' relationships, anxiety management and trauma recovery. My style is direct with validation, genuine care and wholehearted compassion. I bring authenticity, integrity, transparency and collaboration in session and hold clients and myself accountable in recovery journeys. I uses a beginner’s mind to meet each client where they are and does not make assumptions. I trust clients’ expertise in their lives, while offering resources and psychoeducation as needed to help them improve their understanding, acceptance, and mastery of difficult situations.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in equity and social justice in mental health. This has drawn me to be an agent of change to promote systemic transformation with compassion and integrity. I have witnessed the unbearable cost of oppressing emotional needs for the sake of achievements and fitting in with social norms. I support people to create a relational balance and harmony with self, others, and surrounding elements, and reach the ultimate liberation of self–to be at peace with who you are and enjoy life. No human being can thrive without relationships. I found that clients I worked with in the past, who achieved desired outcomes, were doing therapy focused on improving relationships with self, others and surroundings. Once clients were able to reengage with these relationships in a way actually works, their presenting issues are mostly gone.
