Accepting Clients

I'm a counselor who's started businesses and led men's groups. I use that training/experience to illuminate all the parts of all my clients.

About My Clients

My clients are folks of all backgrounds who want collaboration and compassion as they move into the next stage of their lives. I especially work with men (gay and straight) and entrepreneurs and leaders (individually or in teams), and folks in interracial relationships. Clients have told me they appreciate my warmth, willingness to name what I experience with them in our work, and ability to tackle experiences of trauma, marginalization, and loneliness.

My Background and Approach

I believe therapy works best when we consider both what happened in your life that brought you to this moment, and how you live in this moment that affects you and your relationships. As we build trust and connection, we'll look at the events that made you who you are and built your patterns. I'll support you in connecting more deeply to your present moment through emotional awareness, felt experience, and in-the-moment processing. I've trained in and spent time focusing on mindfulness, men's issues, gestalt therapy, psychedelic integration, and other modalities that support growth. As we work together, we may talk about friends, family, romance, career, leadership, friendship, and everything in between - I believe they are all pieces of the same thing.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that authentic connection is central to both good therapy and general happiness. Our world so often tells us we have to do this alone, but we're wired for connection and engagement. As someone who identifies as white, male, and privileged, I see it as my responsibility and honor to ensure that I recognize my clients' experience fully and do my own work, too. For many reasons, many of my clients have been gay men, and I've been told that I was one of the first straight men that many of them felt they could trust. That's one of the most meaningful things anyone has ever told me. I'm a big believer in the potential of psychedelic therapy, and I've been advocating for sensible drug policies for years. I'm trained and practice in integration of psychedelic experiences and am an ardent harm reductionist. I also have been deeply impacted by the natural world and its power to heal us. I weave that into my work, too.
