About My Clients
My ideal clients are adults (18+) who are looking for an experienced, empathetic, direct, and challenging therapist. This person(s) are ideally very motivated for treatment and likely have some for of trauma, PTSD, issues stemming from sex negativity (purity culture, consent violations, toxic masc), Neurodivergent, or a personality disorder (BPD/NPD). My clients also tend to identify as part of the LGBTQI community and/or the kink/BDSM community.
My Background and Approach
Erica approaches therapy from an MBT perspective, in a client-centered, supportive, and rapport-building manner. They specialize in treating PTSD/Trauma/C-PTSD, depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, and personality disorders/BPD. In addition, Erica identifies as part of the community and works with clients whom identify as LGBTQIA, kink/BDSM, poly/ENM, sex workers, body positive, recovering from purity culture, or anyone who does not identify with the heteronormative culture. Erica has over 10 year of experience and almost 3 years of experience as a Sex Positive therapist. They believe that connecting with clients in an authentic and real way helps to build a balanced therapeutic relationship that embraces the we instead of the expert/non-expert relationship. Erica is working hard to deconstruct the negative cultural norms about sex and believes that sex & bodies are natural. They are caring, supportive, curious, and open.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Erica is an atheist but is accepting of all religious and spiritual beliefs. They are working on creating a Sex Positive Certification program, which will take time but Erica believes that training other therapist in sex positivity is vital for clients and the community. Erica is available to supervise upcoming clinicians with a sex positive framework. They have not been active in the community due to COVID but hopes to volunteer for LGBTQIA based non profit in the future. Erica believes that teaching sex positive consent based sex education will help decrease the misunderstanding surrounding consent, STIs, safety, understanding of sexual orientation, and gender.
