About My Clients
I specialize in working with folks who are navigating challenges related to age, linguistic, societal, or gender barriers. I help them find their innate strengths to develop skills to achieve the goals they have. Schedule a cost-free consultation to see if we are a good match.
My Background and Approach
I am also a Care Manager (Senior Services) at a social service agency and have extensive experience in undergraduate college teaching: I have been an adjunct professor of psychology for more than 12 years. My areas of practice specialization include: Asian-American/Immigrant mental health; transitional-age youth/college populations, older adult mental health; and LGBTQIA+ mental health. I incorporate Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy in my approach, using fundamentals of biopsychosocial theories to help clients become aware of their strengths and hurdles, so that they can maximize their potential and optimize their living experiences.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a certified yoga instructor and practitioner of mindfulness meditation, which I incorporate in my work with clients. I am spiritual yet I do not have a designated religion. I am an ally and advocate for our LGBTQ+ communities and I volunteer with FreeMomHugs (SoCal Chapter) and the LA LGBT Center. I also volunteer with Basset Hound Rescue of Southern California.
