I am fluent in the language our Pride communities engage in. I am an ally and advocate for equality, and I promote the use of correct pronouns and verbiage to support dignity and respect for our LGBTQIA+ communities.
My training in grief counseling equips me with active listening and compassionate understanding to help my clients who experience losses - be they a job, a spouse/partner, a child, or other loved ones including furry companion. I use meditative practices such as muscle relaxation or imagery guidance, as well as empty chair techniques to help my clients process their grief and adaptively reframe their emotions and memories about their losses.
I help my client understand the stages of aging through psycho-emotional development theory, Choice theory, and existential theories. Using Acceptance and Commitment theory (ACT), my clients learn to embrace and process the necessary stages of life phases and move on with takeaways for growth.
