About My Clients

Fact: uncomfortable thoughts, feelings, and emotions are a part of life. This is not to say that one must accept & endure a life of unhappiness; however, learning how to balance acceptance AND change is a crucial part of therapy & growing. I want to listen, ask questions, understand your story... & help you learn & practice skills that you can utilize for the rest of your life. Just need to vent? Are you wanting an objective perspective on your own subjective views? I'd love to be your audience.

My Background and Approach

First and foremost, we will establish a trusting & healthy therapeutic relationship. I genuinely want you to look forward to working both on yourself & with me each week. While I am considered within the field a "neurodivergent" human who both struggles AND strives with adult-diagnosed ADHD and anxiety, I do not allow these neurological factors define me or you. I currently work, train & am supervised by a well-renowned expert in the field of executive functioning: Brandon Tessers, founder of the "Center for Effective Artistry" practice. My true passions stem from working with those seeking therapy for depression, trauma, adverse childhood experiences, & self-confidence / self-realization work. I have both clinical & personal experience working with those with mood disorders, & I have some experience working with those diagnosed with BPD. Since there is typically no one-size-fits-all approach for individuals, ours will be a collaborative effort, perhaps utilizing several models.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

A former ward of the state failed to be protected as a child by the Illinois DCFS, I've experienced many adverse childhood events, which has lent to my adeptness of working with those seeking a trauma-informed lens. Identified in grade school as a neurodivergent “gifted kid" of the 90’s, I remember how it feels to be misunderstood by family, peers, and the like. As a high school dropout, I understand firsthand what it's like to drift through life feeling alone & without sense of purpose. However, as someone who went back to school two decades later & earned a masters degree, I am proof that one can shift paths, recover, or change their realities. Throughout it all, I've developed resilience, perseverance, & a strong sense of empathy for those struggling through their own journeys. I feel a strong sense of championship for all of the underdogs of the world. My other true passions are traveling adventures & ecology, and I am a (very) amateur nature photographer.
