About My Clients
I am especially helpful for people who struggle with anxiety or self-esteem issues. If stress management matters to you, then I’m your gal. To me, it is important that therapy is not just about talking: it is also about taking action. You are dealing with specific problems. We will try specific approaches to work on them while learning and practicing adaptive strategies that you can utilize for the rest of your life.
My Background and Approach
I am an expert in executive functioning. Partly because I am diagnosed with inattentive ADHD. Partly because I have spent years training in executive functioning issues and how they relate to therapy. I’ve also been diagnosed with GAD and a mood disorder, like so many of my clients, and I successfully manage all three.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a kind person who is observant, pragmatic, and funny. Outside of therapy, my true love lies within the field of ecology and anything having to do with animals! I’m fighting the impulse to write a long list of specific approaches and techniques that I use in my work. It’s hard for me to just say “I am” x, y, or z without wanting to give evidence to support my claim. Sometimes I struggle with feeling like a fraud. And I feel secure in saying that because I know that there’s no such thing as a perfect person or a perfect life. Neither life nor therapy are about making things perfect. They are about making things better. That’s what I do. For myself and for my clients. Always learning, always challenging myself and others, always working to make things better. That’s what therapy is like with me. Celebrating progress, reflecting on setbacks, and then moving on to the next thing. Always working to make things better.
