Accepting Clients

I help people who function well in life, yet feel uncomfortable being their “authentic self” with others.

About My Clients

You are so tired of not feeling well, but hesitate to contact a therapist: Can I trust a stranger? Can anybody really help me? On the face of it, you function well in life, but deep inside you feel you don't actually “show up,” or you don't fully “belong.” Aspects of your life story might explain why you feel uncomfortable, why you feel different than others, or why you are down or anxious. I would love to help you explore such issues, and work with you on improving your daily life experience.

My Background and Approach

Over the years, I have worked closely with foreigners & immigrants and LGBTQ+ folks. People belonging to both groups may struggle with their sense of belonging, and with the comfort in being who they are. Sadly, societal norms and majority / minority dynamics contribute to this experience. Does this resonate with you? In therapy, I will help you unpack your personal story while using a compassionate and affirming approach. My ultimate goal is to help you feel free to be you. My years of experience providing both individual & couples therapy taught me that an individually-tailored approach to each client, integrating a variety of well-tested therapeutic methods works best. I combine this with honest talk, touching the pain, laughing, and helping you connect with your strengths. I would love to help you!

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I’ve tasted different aspects of the power dynamics via my intersecting identities: I have suffered oppression and marginalization through my minority identities as a queer, Jewish immigrant woman. I’ve also experienced privileges via other aspects of my being. As a result, I deeply care about the struggle of marginalized communities, and I oppose oppression strongly. I do much of my social justice work through therapy: I help my clients develop insight into the circumstances that undermined their being over the years. I then help them build-up again with self-realization, self-compassion, and self-empowerment. I do this work collaboratively and compassionately. I believe in people’s ability to heal through a gradual authentic and safe process. I would love to engage with you in such a process, and help you heal! Please check my website for more details. I look forward to connecting with you!
