About My Clients

I work with adults of all ages looking to exist more fully as themselves. I am especially passionate about and driven to provide space for LGBTQIA+ adults exploring identity, adjustments, and changes. Clients I love holding space for are the ones feeling stuck and curious about understanding more of what has gotten, and continues to get, in the way of living the life they want to be living. My clients may have experienced traumatic events that shape the way they see themselves and the world.

My Background and Approach

I approach therapy as a genuine collaboration. I trust that you are an expert on you, know the most about your experience & what resonates better than anyone else ever will, & have a powerful internal knowing & wisdom. Together we can explore a variety of skills to expand your resources, healing, & ability to be present to the messiness of life. Integrating skills & honoring that trauma needs to be released through the body is a sacred experience. I am honored to join clients in their healing journey! I take a very strengths-based approach. I use a radical mental health framework that values the lived experience of trauma & neurodivergence (or any word that resonates with you), understands the harm systems of oppression cause, & does not pathologize or see anyone's struggles with mental & emotional wellbeing as a personal failing. We work to find ways to engage with healing & check in regularly about how the process is unfolding.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

It is critical & necessary to acknowledge, discuss, & recognize the impact of trauma on our lives, specifically the traumas we experience in childhood, & the trauma of destructive systems (such as capitalism, patriarchy, white supremacy, transphobia, homophobia, ableism, & more) on our emotional and psychological wellbeing. To acknowledge & be curious is imperative in integrating healing & healthy ways to cope & thrive. I am a life-long learner, admire of the small things in life, love trees, & am an avid pun enthusiast. I believe in the intersection of healing & justice; that humor, joy, & radical self-love (Sonya Renee Taylor, see her work for more info) are all crucial ingredients in collective liberation. I’m engaged in advocacy and activism related to the intersectional issues in local & global communities, & dedicated to the endless process of self-growth, healing, & building a world we can all live in. I believe humor & humility are critical tools in this challenging work.
