I have managed asthma and chronic pain for my entire adult life. I love sharing the mind-body approaches I've learned that help me get through flare-ups.

I have over two decades of experience as a clinician and nearly as many years as a clinical supervisor. I have experienced compassion fatigue and burnout, as well as recovery from the same (the latter being an ongoing process). I love supporting other therapists in finding what works best for them to keep doing the work they love.

Many of the specialties on this list could fall under the broad term of "traumatizing," so my hope in selecting PTSD as a specialty is to include all of those: systemic oppression, political and economic stress, family conflict, being neurodivergent in a society that tends to ignore us, the negative impacts of colonization and patriarchy on all of us.

Brainspotting is my favorite way to combine talk therapy with body-focused mindfulness. This treatment is based on the fact that where we look affects how we feel, meaning that we can access nonverbal memories in order to heal them. I have completed training in Phases 1 and 2. I will attend Phase 3 training in July 2023.

I enjoy working with couples and people in relationships of all sorts. I personally think this is an exciting time to be alive, as our society is collectively questioning the "traditional" patriarchal and colonization based ideas many of us were taught. I focus on using mindfulness, Nonviolent Communication, and co-regulation to help you feel more connected to your partner(s).

I strongly believe that one way U.S. culture has been successful in indoctrinating so many of us is by disconnecting us from our bodies. If I am disconnected from how I feel and the relationships between myself and others, then I can more easily dismiss those feelings in service of working "like a boss" for someone else's benefit. The more we connect with our own bodies and heal the wounds we find there, the better off we all are!
