I love working with couples, artists/creatives, LGBTIA+ & neurodivergent folks. My ideal client is curious to dig deep, wants to raise self-awareness, and is ready to sift through the pieces of life's puzzle together
My Approach to Helping
I strive to develop an authentic, deep connection with you built upon compassion, empathy and understanding. I am passionate about healing through personal acceptance, growth, and positive change. My role is to support you in navigating issues related to mental health struggles, identity exploration, challenging life roadblocks, and personal & relational issues, to assist in identifying patterns in relationships, behaviors, or other areas that may be contributing to your struggles. More technically- I use an eclectic approach to therapy rooted in humanistic theories (person centered, existential and relational-cultural). I find this type of therapy to be most effective when utilizing evidence based techniques, such as CBT, ACT, and IFS. I am Level 1 certified in the Gottman Method for couples. I have made adaptations to ensure a space that is safe, inclusive, multiculturally competent, queer, kink, and CNM/poly friendly. Come as you are :)
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I maintain an anti-oppressive and intersectional perspective. I prioritize an individual’s lived experience and expertise on their own life, and acknowledging the systemic barriers that can contribute to personal & mental health issues. I am an advocate for harm reduction, a survivor of sexual assault, and a proletarian feminist. I am highly sensitive person with ADHD, an artist, and I love animals. Before deciding to become a therapist, I received a BFA in painting & video, and worked at a non-profit serving at risk communities in Baltimore as an art teacher and art therapist. In my spare time, I enjoy making & listening to music, making art, rock climbing, cooking & baking, reading, watching anime, language learning, and spending time with my dog, Tofu! 저는 한국어 배우고 있어요
