About My Clients
I specialize in anxiety, depression, and trauma. I am also experienced in healthy peer and intimate relationships, co-dependency, LGBTQ+, and adoption related issues. My approach is eclectic with an emphasis on CBT. Identifying faulty core beliefs in particular while working to accurately shift them can benefit overall progress. Increasing positive coping, self care, and mindfulness are also essential in my work. To start, we will explore what you want and discuss how we can get you there.
My Background and Approach
I have an MS in Counseling with an MFT emphasis and I have been practicing therapy since 2007. I have a plethora of experience within the context of homeless shelters, community mental health, non-profits, medical health settings, and private practice. Clientele has included ethnically diverse populations, wide age ranges, and varying mental health issues. Depression, Anxiety, Trauma, Grief and Loss, Life Transitions, Work/Life Balance, and Identify are a few of the many issues I have treated. I have also had the pleasure of getting to know and work with the LBGTQ+ community which includes gender affirming care within the context of folks undergoing medical transitions. I am here with you and support your journey into flourishing into your true self. I am certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT) and Individual Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (ICBT). I also have experience in utilizing DBT concepts and interventions to assist with emotional regulation.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I would be honored to get to know you and work with you. I am interested in your reasons for seeking treatment at this time and care about who you are; your wants/needs and goals for treatment. I am an open minded individual who practices non-judgement, compassion, inclusivity, understanding, and advocacy for those who are marginalized. I support the LGBTQ+ community and am an active member of SURJ (Standing up for Racial Justice) here in LB. I believe that it is important to be a part of the change through education, visibility, action, and ongoing love and care for all people.
