My Background and Approach
Welcome! I specialize in complex stress and trauma (CPTSD) caused by emotional distress rooted in early life experiences. My other treatment specialties are treating low self-esteem, anxiety, guilt, depression, and recovering from religious trauma. With a diverse background in the study of religion, creative writing, and psychology, I bring a unique and creative perspective to the counseling process. My holistic approach can help you transform parts of yourself (thoughts, feelings, and behaviors) that feel stuck in the past and are no longer serving your highest Self. I use gentle somatic therapies like Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), and Advanced Integrative Therapy (AIT) to facilitate self-discovery and healing. Through this approach, I have witnessed clients discover self-compassion, meet previously unknown parts of themselves, and develop resilience and purpose.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
In my therapy practice, I draw inspiration from mindfulness, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Jungian psychology. These beliefs underpin my approach to healing and personal growth. I think that mindfulness and self-compassion are keys to easing suffering and finding inner peace. I also focus on understanding and harmonizing our internal parts, fostering self-awareness and integration. In addition, I believe that the exploration of dreams and symbolism can give insight into our deeper selves.
