About My Clients
I enjoy working with adults and I currently provide individual and group therapy. I am experienced in treating a variety of mental health issues ranging from: complex trauma and addiction; anxiety and depression; to self-esteem issues.
My Background and Approach
When working with clients, I enjoy using NARM (the neuro-affective relational model), a humanistic and compassionate approach to treating complex, developmental, and relational trauma. I also apply psychodynamic, acceptance and commitment, and solution-focused theories, as well as motivational interviewing. I do not take a “one size fits all” approach in my work with addiction. I collaborate with clients, to meet them where they are at and help them how they see fit. I understand that recovery looks different for everyone. I place a heavy emphasis on authenticity, vulnerability, and connection when it comes to mental health. In my work with clients, I believe in helping them to cultivate self-acceptance, which leads to an improved sense of self-worth and greater love for oneself.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in advocating for those that are unable to do so for themselves. Areas of focus for me include: addiction treatment and advocacy; complex-trauma work; identity issues. I operate from an anti-racist lens in my work with clients and believe in on-going training, education, and work for myself. Specific to addiction, I also believe that if it is a disease of isolation, then the solution to that is connection, with oneself, others, and the universe.
