My Background and Approach

My goal is to help provide you with real tools to live your best life. My approach is direct, sincere, and scientifically backed. I see my client’s life and relationship experiences through a trauma informed and culturally sensitive lens. In the beginning phases of therapy we will promote gaining insight and awareness, we will explore the impact that your childhood modeling and upbringing has had on the narratives and beliefs you carry with you today. We will then move into a solution oriented and change focused phase, during which we will unlearn and relearn healthier coping strategies and skills to improve your life and your relationships, we will also rewrite the story of your life to promote mindset and perception shifts. I aim to connect you more deeply with yourself, your partner, your loved ones, and habits. My approach varies according to your unique needs but will always pull from psychodynamic, narrative, cognitive behavioral, family systems, and relational theories.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I became interested in the general field of mental health at an early age. As an Indian-American woman I was faced with the difficult understanding that there is great suffering happening in communities who do not have access to mental health resources and education. I quickly realized the importance of not only accessing these resources but being a part of educating myself and then later educating my community. I quickly understood that there are ways to lift yourself out of suffering and into a more joyful life, and I wanted to share that with anybody I possibly could. This dedication to advocate for mental health and well being inspired me to become a therapist, and it is still one of the best decisions I have ever made. Being a therapist in the modern world I wanted to reduce any stigma and shame around accessing mental health resources. Therefore, I have developed my own sense of style as a relationship therapist that aims to provide an easy and natural space for growth.
