About My Clients
I have a special affinity for gifted and highly sensitive people, as well as those who are experiencing grief. I work with adults, children, couples and families who are ready to to gain self-understanding, self-compassion and thrive.
My Background and Approach
With a strong anchor in attachment theory, I work with clients to help them get to know themselves in a nonjudgemental way so they can better understand what drives them. I use parts therapy, narrative therapy, buddhist psychology and nonviolent communication to help clients explore all their parts, especially those in shadow so they can get unstuck and move forward in life toward emotional liberation. I'm a big fan of storytelling, humor, poetry and art as inspiration for exploring the self and value the power of play therapy as well.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everything we do is an attempt to feel safe, and that shifting away from judgement toward open-hearted curiosity is often the beginning of gaining a deeper understanding of oneself for the purpose of igniting both compassion for others and for ourselves. The collaborative process of therapy can help you learn to work with your emotions, and get a better understanding of your own needs and desires, which will in turn create more ease and intimacy in your relationships.
