About My Clients
My clients are a diverse group of people ranging from age 14-70 and representing all genders, sexual orientations and many races.
My Background and Approach
Simply put, therapy is about having conversations to help you identify your goals and to empower you to achieve them. We examine your life and the stories you have told yourself. We look at your dreams and heartfelt desires. Then we identify and examine the blocks that are preventing you from attaining them. I draw on my experience from two masters programs; one in Clinical Psychology and the other in Spiritual Psychology. In addition, I am the author of Gay Dads: A Celebration of Fatherhood. I have helped clients decrease and overcome anxiety, depression, substance use, coming out, sexual identity and gender transitioning as well as improving relationships with romantic partners, family members and co-workers. Together, we can look at your life story and rewrite your narrative to increase your self-confidence, happiness, love and joy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that therapy works! Through my work I: 1. provide emotional support 2. offer insights into behavior (positive and negative patterns and limiting beliefs) 3. help identify your life goals and blocks 3. help reduce or alleviate psychological symptoms and disorders that get in the way of living a full life 4. identify your strengths to build self confidence 5. help to meaningfully connect to other people 6. provide a healthy supportive and often reparative relationship that can serve as a model for additional relationships outside of therapy
