Accepting Clients

Hi! My name is Evan (she/her). I am an opera singer-turned psychotherapist with a focus on relationships and sexuality.

Marriage & Family Therapist in Philadelphia, PA

About My Clients

I support individuals and couples as they tune in to their inner voice, strengthen their sense of self, and ultimately find comfort in expressing their wants and needs. We will explore the root causes of some of the patterns in your life and strive for self-discovery and growth. I will help you to identify and ultimately challenge negative self-talk that has likely impacted your view of self and led to negative coping behaviors.

My Background and Approach

In my couples work, I facilitate conflict resolution and believe in the power of transparent communication to improve overall relationship satisfaction. We will be committed to accepting and validating feelings and strive for mutual respect and openness. You will begin to recognize what security looks like within yourself so that you can ask for it from the important individuals in your life, including your partner. My work is informed by an integrative model, and I believe in holistic, client-centered care. Whatever brings you to therapy at this time, I look forward to helping you find empowerment and healing in your relationship with yourself, others, and your sexuality. I am a member of AASECT and AAMFT. I received my training from Jefferson University’s Couple and Family Therapy Program, with a specialization in Sex Therapy, and a Clinical Internship with Council for Relationships. I am trained in levels I and II of the Gottman Method for Couples Therapy.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Through experiences in my own therapy, I recognized that I was muting myself and suppressing my emotions in many aspects of my life. Because emotions alert us to unhealthy situations, on mute, I was unable to see how unhappy I had become. I ultimately decided that a career in the arts wasn’t serving me or my needs anymore and that I wanted to focus on helping others heal on their paths to self-discovery. I now help others find their unmute button and create a safe space for them to use their voices in whatever way makes them feel empowered. Between my unique life experience and my education, I’m ready to help you explore your own story. I’ll meet you wherever you are on your therapy journey. Let’s help you find empowerment through healing and a commitment to self.
