About My Clients
I am eager to work with any client who wants to pursue long-term, meaningful change in their life. I have a particular passion and expertise in working with survivors of trauma and clients who are experiencing the effects of deeply-rooted, unhelpful beliefs about themselves. I am passionate about helping clients build (or rebuild) their self-esteem and sense of self-worth as well as helping them replace outdated defense mechanisms with healthy coping skills.
My Background and Approach
I offer a trauma informed perspective using a person-centered approach while using specific techniques from multiple modalities to meet your specific needs. I also love to offer play therapy to adults as a supplement or alternative to traditional talk-therapy. I am intimately aware of what it means to need help. It took a lot of time and a lot of work, but I learned that my mental health is important enough to take seriously and that getting therapy was a sign of self-respect, not weakness. I hope I can be a part of you strengthening your sense of self and as well as the relationships that are important to you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My values are around the belief that human beings are really, profoundly important and I want to be a part of promoting their wellbeing. I am an LGBTQIA+ ally and work hard to educate myself on the issues that affect and are important to the LGBTQIA+ community. I am also an advocate for reproductive and abortion rights and participate with local non-profits on lobbying to fight the affects of overturning Roe v. Wade. I also deeply care for sexual assault survivors and partner with local non-profits to help the fight against sex trafficking as well as provide therapy services for sexual assault survivors.
