I provide effective and evidence-based treatment to relieve the symptoms of depression and prevent relapse from occurring. The stigma, pain, and chaos that often comes with addiction can make it feel very difficult to seek help. I provide a non-judgmental and safe place to help you find the change you are seeking. I use trauma-informed treatment approaches and evidence-based practices to help you work on your goal, whether that be to reach or maintain abstinence, or to cut down your use, or to explore the role the substance (or the behavior- such as internet use, video games, and gambling) has played in your life.

Anxiety, when untreated, can make all other areas of life challenging. Whether you are struggling with a new situation or repeated patterns of experiencing anxiety, I can help you find relief. I provide trauma-informed care and use evidence-based based treatments that will reduce anxiety and return you to the opportunity to live a full and peaceful life. You are capable of this change, and you deserve compassionate and nonjudgmental treatment.

Since 2012, I have worked in residential treatment centers, intensive outpatient treatment centers and was a manager of Kaiser Permanente's Addiction Medicine and Recovery Services clinic in Santa Clara. I have years of experience and training in many approaches to addiction treatment, including abstinence-based care, harm reduction, 12 step and non-12 step modalities, Relapse Prevention, Medication Assisted Treatment, Co-Occurring Disorders, and Family Codependency Treatment.

I am well experienced in using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to treat depression, anxiety, trauma, addictions and substance use disorders, relationship issues, codependency, and many other problematic behaviors. I can support you in better understanding the way you are perceiving yourself and others, and how this perception affects your emotions and thinking. We can discover these patterns together and create new ways of thinking that better support your goals and increase happiness.

I have extensive training and experience in using Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help people build skills to manage emotion regulation, improve relationships, and improve a positive sense of self. This treatment offers practical skill building to improve mindfulness of the experience of emotions, and tools to change emotional reactivity. DBT is useful in reducing suicidal thoughts, reducing substance use, improving mood and decreasing anxiety.

I am trained in EMDR and use this approach to support individual's recovering from depression, anxiety, PTSD and trauma, addictions, fears/phobias, chronic pain, any other issues. EMDR is an evidence-based practice and I find that this type of therapy is quite useful in supporting people in reaching their goals.

When your relationship with someone you love demands more from you than you understand how to give, it can be difficult to maintain boundaries that allow you to feel like your own needs can be met in the relationship. It can often feel like you are not aware anymore of what your own needs are. When loved ones struggle with addiction or other mental health problems, codependency is the result of having a relationship with them and this can be managed so you can be well, even if they are not.

I have many years of experience in supporting people in better understanding their relationship with alcohol, drugs, or other behaviors (such as spending money, sex, relationships, gambling, food) so that they can make the changes they want to live a fuller, healthier life. Whether you are considering reducing the amount that you drink, or you are seeking support to achieve and maintain a sober life, I can support you. I believe that there are many paths in recovery, it is all up to you.
