Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Fort Mitchell, KY
I have extensive experience working with C-PTSD as a result of intergenerational trauma. I have been privileged to watch many of my clients be the first in their families to break cycles of abuse and find new, healthier ways of relating to themselves and others. I've seen the positive impact it has had on their friendships, intimate relationships, parenting, and especially their relationship with themselves.
I have training in personality disorders and have worked with personality disorders throughout my career. I am competent in DBT techniques and have worked as part of a DBT treatment team. I also have experience working with couples impacted by a personality disorder.
I am a body-positive clinician and have conducted and published research in the area of body image and self-objectification. I work with disordered eating and use an intuitive eating approach to help clients make peace with their body and food.
I use DBT to address many areas of distress. I found it to be especially useful in building emotional resilience, improving relationships, and creating a life aligned with the clients values and goals.
I use attachment theory in couples counseling and in individual counseling when there is interpersonal relationship distress or parenting concerns. I've also found it useful when processing childhood abuse and trauma and intergenerational trauma.
I use existential therapy to help clients explore their own personal values, find what is meaningful to them, and challenge inherited belief systems.
