About My Clients
I’m excited to meet you and begin our work together. Therapy works best when you are comfortable with your counselor — feeling understood, valued, and safe. I am passionate about helping my clients better understand themselves and their relationships. Together we will explore what matters to you, and work together to develop skills that will improve your day-to-day life. I enjoy helping my clients find balance and purpose as they discover and utilize their personal strengths.
My Background and Approach
I am a licensed clinical social worker and offer online sessions for residents of Kentucky and Ohio. I have been working as a mental health counselor and therapist for over 6 years, working with individuals, couples, and families. I am LGBTQIA+ welcoming and affirming. My specialties include: Complex trauma; Boundary work to improve marriage and family relationships; Body image issues; Disordered eating; Faith Transitions; Life transitions; Exploring gender and sexual identity; Exploring personal values to create an authentic, joyful life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that the most important relationship we'll ever have is the one we have with ourselves. I use self-compassion in my work and in my personal life to nurture positive feelings of self-worth and value. When we value ourselves we are more likely to build a life worth living. I am an active member of the HAES (Health at Every Size) community and have published research on body image and self-objectification. I'm also active with AFSP and participate in the Out of the Darkness Walk annually.
