About My Clients
Your goals may range from: simply learning how to survive the day, to communicating with others effectively, to becoming comfortable with our uncomfortable feelings, to unpacking those “triggers” that have been following you since childhood.
My Background and Approach
My work with clients in inpatient care and community settings has given me a diverse skillset to address what you may be bringing to therapy - ranging from daily stress to severe, chronic mental health concerns. No problem is too big or too small to get help for! With a client-focused, relational approach, I draw from multiple research-supported techniques to help you feel better. I draw heavily from DBT. I also provide psychoeducation using CBT principles and my experience with neuroscience research. Meanwhile, I use an ACT perspective, which prioritizes acting in alignment with values. I pull in skills from other therapies as appropriate to the client. My research experience in psychology and cognitive neuroscience at Brown, Emory, and Yale Universities strongly inform my practice as a social worker. Additionally, I have received mentorships/certifications in CBT, TFCBT, DBT, addiction, cognitive testing (MOCA), & risk management of suicidality.
