I use a variety of therapeutic approaches and skills to address anxiety as it presents for each unique client. I also incorporate skill-based training in many of my sessions. I will help you learn specific tools to overcome your anxiety, like breathing exercises and relaxation techniques. I have found this approach to be very effective for clients who are struggling with anxiety issues.

In CBT, the therapist and client wok collaboratively to identify the client's goals and develop strategies for reaching those goals. The patient learns how to identify problematic thought patterns, challenge them in a rational manner, and replace them with more realistic ones. By learning to change their thought patterns, clients can better manage their emotions and behaviors in any situation.

I'm a therapist with a passion for helping my clients to feel heard and understood. Expressive arts therapy employs the use of various artistic and creative mediums, including art, writing and movement. These techniques help the client achieve greater self awareness and personal growth by allowing them to explore and communicate their thoughts and feelings in an accessible way. I believe that we all have the ability to be creative and to express ourselves authentically.

I work with my clients using DBT techniques to help them regulate emotions, reduce anxiety, and to support self-esteem. The skills involved with DBT support my clients in learning how to live more effectively in the present moment; manage painful emotions such as anger, depression, and anxiety,; improve relationships with others; and reduce self-destructive behaviors. I believe that every person has the ability to rise above their trauma, and I love helping people do just that.
