About My Clients

My clients are courageous and come to individual and/or group therapy! Therapy groups: Rainbow Heads/Neurodivergence (Autism, ADHD, AuDHD) and Healing from Toxic Relationships, Finding Love and Dating, and Careers and Entrepreneurship! They also take my course and read my books to learn about domestic violence, and support nonprofits through my cute shirts! Most of my clients are neurodivergent, like me! And many are queer, like me! And a lot are BIPOC with various cultural experiences :)

My Background and Approach

My experience getting individual and group counseling help as a DV survivor, and then as a volunteer leading DV groups, led me to become a therapist. This not only gave me experience to understand other survivors, but the experience of what it is like to figure out who I was again, to try and fail multiple times, and to eventually rebuild my life to live it the way I want. I deeply empathize and listen to people because with a lot of issues, I've been there. And then I've come out on the other side even stronger. I use education and creativity to find people's strengths to find meaning, healthy relationships, lives with creativity and adventure, and careers that bring joy. Group therapy is a fun way to achieve all this: People get a chance to learn, grow, and connect with one another, while supporting eachother. It reminds us that we are not alone in our experiences, provides other viewpoints, lets us practice communication skills, and come out of the experience with a new friend!

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My friends in school to become a therapist nicknamed me "AdvoKate" and I absolutely melted. I do advocate for people, and I also show people how to advocate for themselves. I have a lot of advocacy passions, though some are: DV, SA, BLM, LGBTQ+, trans rights, personal body autonomy, &climate change. I organized phone banks and canvases for, and was a precinct delegate for Bernie Sanders; I went to the CHOP almost every day; and I have spoken at city council meetings; as well as attended other protests, marches and activities. I stay on top of the news and I find ways to help whenever I can. I believe finding even small ways to give and advocate for change can be incredibly therapeutic and empowering. Though, I also like to remind people to put their own mental health first and to find that balance. We must always put our own life jackets first and take care of our own needs, before we can help others. Once we're ready, though, it can make us feel so strong, connected, and alive.
