My Background and Approach
As a licensed psychiatrist, I received my residency training at the University of Colorado, where I had the privilege of serving as Chief Resident. Along the way, I've been honored with induction into the Gold Humanism Honor Society and received the Dr. Judy Hu Award for my dedication to teamwork and collegiality. I'm board-eligible in adult psychiatry and neurology. I completed my undergraduate education at the University of Denver, earning degrees in Biology, Chemistry, and French. My journey in psychiatry has been diverse, encompassing experiences in hospitals and specialty outpatient clinics. I've refined my expertise in psychopharmacology and psychotherapy, helping patients navigate various mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety, trauma, and addiction. I hold a deep passion for global mental health, driven by my commitment to understanding and addressing mental health challenges in the context of other cultures.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My approach involves conducting thorough and comprehensive evaluations to gain a holistic understanding of my patients' lives and symptoms. This forms the basis for my treatment recommendations, which may include medication, therapy, or a combination of both. My goal is to deeply understand my patients in order to provide compassionate care and facilitate lasting change.
