My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor in New York State. As an inclusive therapist, I offer an integrative therapeutic approach depending on your unique needs. My modality is rooted in psychodynamic, relational, and attachment theories, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, strengths-based and solution-focused methods. Above all, I find the relationship between therapist and client is what derives the most healing, growth, and change. I specialize in working with teens and young adults. The transformation of those that I work with has been incredible to witness. I’m confident that together, we can gain clarity and discover more meaning to life. I am an ally to BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My desire to help others overcome emotional struggles stems back as far as I can remember. No doubt influenced by the mental illness and addiction in my own family, I’ve always known that helping young people was what I was called on this earth to do. I focus on helping those people make sense of life, release pain, increase their self-worth and grow into their deepest potential. Mental health and wellness is a priority in my own life and so I strive to practice what I preach. In my free time you can find me outdoors chasing the sun, strolling in Central Park, dancing to the beat, seeing the world, learning to speak Spanish, and spending quality time with ones I hold dear. A special part of my work has been traveling abroad to Latinx countries, further developing my bilingual competency, and providing support and counseling to underserved children in disadvantaged and underprivileged communities.
