About My Clients
Whether it’s anxiety, relationship challenges, trauma, or more- we explore how our minds and bodies adapted certain thoughts, beliefs, behaviors, and how we can reshape them to better serve you today, by using a safe and genuine relationship as the foundation for healing. I also support interracial relationships using relational and liberatory practices.
My Background and Approach
I believe that providing treatment is not the same as supporting healing. I’m all about the healing because I’m not interested in seeing you assimilate or “maintain a baseline functioning”, I’m interested in seeing you bloom. Your healing means more energy towards your passions, commitments, and care for the world. That is why I gravitate towards approaches that are multi-layered, fluid, dynamic, and socially conscious- whether that is using Interpersonal Neurobiology (see trauma holistically), Somatic Practices (using the body to support processing and healing), Narrative Therapy (understanding the impact of our thoughts and stories), and Buddhist Psychology (building intentionality, and connection to meaning). Education: MA in Cognitive Psychology, MSW in Clinical Social Work. Additional trainings: Domestic Violence, IPNB, Somatic Practices, Eating Disorders.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Some of my guiding beliefs include: Relational- I emphasize building an authentic connection with you. I am not a blank slate or neutral observer. I have deep, genuine care and compassion for you. Liberatory- I think critically about the impact of oppression on mental health and challenge how it presents in traditional therapeutic practice. Your wisdom, your experience, and your heritage matter. Holistic- I use integrative approaches that involve neuroscience and biology to address the multilayer impact of stress, harm, and trauma. Committed- You are not just one client in a sea of many. I am committed to your healing- in session by being engaged and collaborative, and beyond sessions through advocacy and continued deep learning to better understand and serve your needs.
