My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a liberal ally who supports women's rights, those who identify as women or men regardless of birth sex, ancestral lands, racial equity, fat and body acceptance, advocacy for mental health and healthcare reform as well as natural methods of mental health treatment. I am a large woman who focuses on health at any size, including yoga, Accessible Yoga (including bed, chair and limited mobility), therapeutic expressive arts, sound healing and more. I am also an advocate for culinary medicine and therapeutic arts in all areas, rethinking counselor training programs and mental health in schools. I have worked in education and human services for over 35 years and have my own recovery story (18 years) and personal experience with C-PTSD that gives insight into more effective healing treatments. I do use some traditional methods with talk therapy, but sessions, unless you choose, are not solely talk therapy and include some kind of intervention i.e. expressive arts, sound, movement.
