About My Clients
I pair well with folks hoping to explore the interplay of their past and present experiences, harmonize the mind and body, improve their relationships, and feel empowered to live authentically, just as they are. My objective is to meet clients where they’re at. I understand that therapy is deeply personal and that every client's needs vary.
My Background and Approach
I draw from evidence-based modalities, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Attachment-Based Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Psychodynamic Therapy, and Somatic therapies. I prioritize a client-centered and collaborative style, believing that a strong therapeutic relationship is essential for personal growth and transformation. When appropriate, I value the use of humor as a healing tool, recognizing its cathartic power. My experience spans working with adolescents, adults, and couples on issues including complex trauma/PTSD, grief, ADHD, body image concerns, substance use, shame, reproductive identity, and relationship challenges. I have a strong interest in perinatal and reproductive mental health, addressing concerns related to the menstrual cycle, Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD), Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs), infertility, pregnancy loss, and other matters related to family planning.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Every person is inherently deserving of pursuing what brings them fulfillment without having to justify their right to comfort, pleasure, and joy. We are complex beings with many facets, all of which are constantly evolving and adapting. I adopt a holistic and relational framework, founded on the principle that healing involves reconnecting the mind and body. My approach is anti-oppressive and LGBTQIA+ affirming, mindful of the widespread systemic injustices many communities encounter. Listening to my clients’ stories, I attune to the diverse, intersecting identities that shape their world experiences. Additionally, I am sex-positive and kink/BDSM-friendly. Trauma often presents barriers to forming secure relationships, yet it is through these secure connections that healing from trauma becomes possible. I firmly believe that just as trauma can be inherited across generations, so too can the capacity for healing, offering hope for breaking cycles of pain and fostering resilience.
