My Background and Approach
I hold a Doctorate in Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, specializing in providing mental health support for non-athletes and athletes. My background also includes teaching the powerful mind-body connection, helping clients understand how mental and physical health are deeply intertwined. I bring a humanistic and culturally sensitive approach to therapy, ensuring that each client’s unique background and experiences are honored in the healing process. Using evidence-based approaches like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), I help clients challenge limiting beliefs and cultivate more adaptive, empowered ways of thinking.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a strong ally for the LGBTQIA+ community, with a particular focus on supporting Black gay males who often face limited support and unique challenges. My advocacy extends to polyamorous individuals and those navigating trauma, creating safe and affirming spaces for healing. Additionally, I work with teens and adults with autism and ADHD, helping them harness their strengths while overcoming challenges. My approach to therapy is eclectic, drawing from various modalities to ensure I provide the most effective, holistic support for each individual. I’m passionate about creating inclusive spaces where all people feel valued, understood, and empowered to thrive.
