About My Clients
I work with folx who experience a variety of presenting concerns that often co-exist and intersect with each other (e.g., the intersection of identity, culture, sexuality, faith). I specialize in working with Indigenous peoples, identity development or questioning, cultural healing and processing, relationships, transitions, intersectionality, stress, meaning making/existentialism, family of origins processing, and college students.
My Background and Approach
I utilize relational and cultural frameworks to provide individually tailored treatment with a variety of different modalities to meet each person’s unique needs. Folx who work with me can expect an open, collaborative relationship where we will work together to identify your needs, process your experiences, and move closer towards a space of healing. I am a licensed psychologist providing telehealth therapy to folks in Utah, Hawai'i, Montana, and am a PSYPACT provider who is able to meet virtually with those in PSYPACT approved states.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a Native Hawaiian psychologist, my Indigenous worldview strongly influences my therapeutic style. I hold my Indigenous values close to me and strongly believe that a decolonial/reindiginizing perspective is vital to returning to a place of balance and acceptance for all. Therefore, my therapeutic practice aims to recenter and reindigenize mental health and well-being through authentic connection, decreasing stigma, and increasing your trust within yourself and deeper ways of knowing. My hope is that by helping others reconnect with their authentic selves and unlearn some of the colonial ways we have been taught, you can begin to reconnect with the path you are supposed to be on. I provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where we can work together on your healing journey so you can lead the authentic life you want.
