With over 25 years of diverse educational and experiential learning across multiple modalities, Roderic Burks brings a depth of academic and clinical experience to his work with clients. Having studied at more than seven universities, been featured on national television, and earned multiple degrees and certifications in counseling psychology, mind-body medicine, wellness, and management, Mr. Burks provides an intentional space for exploring one’s self through an integrative approach to therapy.
My Background and Approach
Mr. Burks graduated cum laude from Adams State University with a master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and from George Washington University with a master’s in Clinical Management and Leadership, bringing a wealth of academic and clinical expertise to his work. He furthered his education with a master’s in Mind-Body Medicine from Saybrook University, where he was awarded the prestigious Presidential Scholarship. Additional studies at the Maryland University of Integrative Health and the University of Santa Monica enhanced his expertise in Integrative Health and Wellness and applied, non-secular Spiritual Psychology. He also trained in the Clinical Depth Psychology doctoral program at Pacifica Graduate Institute. With advanced training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy, Jungian and Depth Psychology, behavioral therapies, DBT, CBT, group therapy, and Positive Psychology, Mr. Burks offers a comprehensive and customized approach best described as integrative psychotherapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
With over 25 years of experience in healthcare, I am deeply aligned with the work of several influential figures, including Drs. Carl Jung, Mary and Ron Hulnick, Martin Seligman, Fritz Perls, Carl Rogers, Irvin Yalom, Richard Schwartz, and many other contributors to depth psychology, positive psychology, Gestalt psychology, self-psychology, reality therapy, non-secular spiritual psychology, DBT/CBT, psychoanalytic psychotherapy, mind-body medicine, Internal Family Systems, and existential and humanistic psychologies. I view the lessons we encounter on this Earth as part of a profound curriculum designed to illuminate our intended work and guide us toward personal growth and fulfillment. By engaging in "Ego-work," I support clients in discovering their authentic selves and cultivating a holistic, rich, and fulfilling life, often leading to greater ease and grace in resolving the challenges that disrupt their peace.
