My Background and Approach
I received a Bachelor of Art’s degree in liberal arts from The Evergreen State College, with a focus in psychology. I received a Master of Art’s degree in counseling psychology from California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS), with a concentration in integral counseling psychology. My graduate school education was in marriage and family therapy with focus in Gestalt/Experiental-Humanistic, Depth/Psychodynamic, and Integral/Holistic counseling. I welcome diversity and practice from a client-centered, trauma-informed, and anti-racist approach. I want to support people in deconstructing systems of oppression. How I practice is holistic, relational, existential-humanistic (Gestalt). I am here to support and be with what you want, using awareness in the present moment as a way to understand and release the pains of the past, fears of the future, and limiting old beliefs. I am absolutely biased towards believing in change, growth, and healing.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a non-binary transgender queer person, I use they/them pronouns. I am a white settler of Ashkenazi Jewish descent, my great-grandparents emigrated to the United States around World War II. I grew up in a middle class family on Tongva land, Los Angeles. I was raised in religion, as an adult I was involved in a cult, and now I follow no specific religious or spiritual group. I am a white-bodied person in support of Black Lives Matter, dedicated to the ending of all systems of oppression within myself and out in the world. I am a strong supporter of plant and psychedelic medicines being accessible and legal for all. I have specialized training in MDMA, ketamine and other psychedelic assisted therapies. I am a participant of Burning Man and other intentional and dance communities. I am currently learning: in the IFS Institute's Online Circle, reading Nancy McWilliams' Psychodynamic Supervision, remembering to be present.
