About My Clients
I work primarily with adults and am a queer-affirming, neurospicy-affirming therapist. My specialties include: Reclamation of Power, Nervous System Regulation, Trauma and Complex Trauma: including PTSD, C-PTSD, intergenerational/ancestral wounds, childhood trauma, sexual assault and abuse, domestic violence survivors, repressed and past life trauma, as well as Chronic Pain/Illness, Spirituality and Spiritual Integration, Attachment and Relationships, and Sex and Sexuality.
My Background and Approach
I hold my LPCC in the state of Colorado and my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling concentrating in Body Psychotherapy from Naropa University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. As a certified Practical Reiki Master and Registered End of Life Doula, I incorporate an energetic and spiritual aspect to my work when appropriate and desired. I believe that you already have everything you need to heal within you. I hold a client-centered, social justice and multicultural approach to therapy and strive to fully understand each individual client's uniqueness. As a somatic therapist, I believe that it is through working with the body and the mind together that the deepest levels of growth and healing can be found and you can expect to explore sensations in the body as well as thoughts in session.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that part of the counseling role includes social advocacy and identify as a cis-woman living with chronic illness, as part of the LGBTQ+ community, as a highly sensitive person, and I believe much of mental illness can be contributed to the failure of the systems we live in to offer adequate support. Counseling isn't about fitting into a box, it's about painting outside the lines, dancing like nobody's watching, and singing your own song. Come as you are, embrace the quirks that make you, you.
