About My Clients
Many clients come to me having tried traditional talk therapy unsuccessfully, seeking support with relationship issues, mood and anxiety concerns, grief, chronic pain, and trauma (including trauma related to unresolved childhood issues and damaging relationships). My trauma-informed, body-centered relational approach allows you to explore how you may be clinging to traumatic memories, to confront fear and self-doubt, to integrate disowned parts of yourself, and to release what is limiting you.
My Background and Approach
I work from a holistic (body-mind-spirit) framework focused on helping you drop unnecessary baggage and enhancing your awareness of present-moment needs. This allows you to respond to your environment in creative, resilience-informed ways, and to embrace your highest potential. Together, we unravel your innate emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual wisdom, so you may live consciously and fully, without being bound by the past. I specialize in relationship concerns, mood and anxiety disturbances, grief, and trauma, including trauma related to unresolved childhood issues and damaging relationships. Through my unique process-oriented, trauma-informed, integrative, personalized approach to psychotherapy, I help guide you to your inner potential, to a deeper sense of connectedness with yourself and others, and to awareness of your resources and strengths. I provide individual, couples, and family therapy, premarital counseling, couples therapy intensives, and self-care immersions.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a relational body-centered gestalt therapist, I believe in the unique power of embodied presence and creative resilience. The warm, supportive, collaborative relationship we create in therapy is the ultimate vehicle for growth and healing. In and through our therapeutic relationship, you have a safe place in which to experiment with new ways of sensing, feeling, thinking, behaving, and being. I view therapy as a place for compassion, support, acceptance, non-judgment, and growth, regardless of your ethnicity, race, religion, age, size, gender, sexual orientation, or physical ability. I've lived in countries spanning Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and North America, and visited more than 50 countries. In my experiences abroad, I commit to embedding myself within my host culture to embrace the richness of our diverse human tapestry. I believe in the intrinsic worth of every human, and I acknowledge both differences and similarities as conduits for connection.
