About My Clients

Experience has taught that clients gain a safe space from feeling supported and understood to better prepare for life's stages, stressors, and struggles. Couples should expect to develop strategies to build stronger connections, overcome conflict, and gain insight into how their partner attaches to them, delving into deeper emotions. Additionally, adults and adolescents should expect to gain insight into their unique life challenges and build the confidence to grow and create a fulfilling life.

My Background and Approach

My expertise lies in authentically showing up for my clients, providing therapeutic support and guidance to couples, adolescents, and individuals facing various life challenges. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, Board-Certified Music Therapist, and Gottman and Emotion-Focused trained couple's therapist with over seven years of experience, I've learned how valuable relationships are for growth and change, including the relationship with your therapist that I work hard to nurture. I employ a person-centered approach, focusing on empathy, understanding, and creating a safe space for clients to express themselves. Evidence-based therapeutic techniques and interventions are tailored to each client's needs. The goals are to facilitate personal growth, enhance relationships, and empower individuals and couples to overcome difficulties and achieve emotional well-being and stronger connections.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

As a multiracial, second-generation immigrant clinician, I understand the importance of cultural sensitivity and humility. I approach each client as the expert in their life and collaborate with them to define their goals and progress based on their personal beliefs and perceptions. I offer affirming care and allyship to oppressed communities, including BIPOC and LGBTQIA+. I actively seek to challenge my implicit biases so my clients don't have to and warmly welcome feedback in continuing to do so. As a married couples counselor, I believe in maintaining a balanced non-biased space where both partners' perceptions can be explored, respected, and challenged. I also identify as a sex-positive and polyamory-affirmed counselor.
