About My Clients
I specialize in treating social anxiety, toxic shame, self-esteem issues, “imposter syndrome,” relational concerns, impact of childhood/attachment trauma, as well as grief and loss. As a first generation immigrant, I enjoy working with culturally/ethnically diverse communities. I have experience working with LGBTQA+ population.
My Background and Approach
I have a background in relational therapies which makes me very attuned and genuinely curious about fully understanding my clients. I prioritize building relationships with my clients where they feel accepted and supported enough to face their vulnerabilities. In my experience, such empathic therapeutic environment is necessary to work through painful memories and examine unhelpful patterns of thinking/behavior. I believe that therapy is not one size fits all process. I use a variety of interventions from different evidence based practices (EMDR, EFT, EFIT, CBT/TFCBT, Schema Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, DBT, Somatic/mindfulness-based approaches, Motivational Interviewing) to tailor a therapeutic process to the needs of a specific client.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
For years I have been committed to providing therapeutic support to the underserved and low income clients of all ethnic, racial, and cultural backgrounds. I have proposed and implemented an EMDR program at the public health agency I was a part of, in order to improve access to best practices and promote trauma healing for this agency's clients. I believe the impact of personal, intergenerational, and racial trauma, among others, create real obstacles to leading a fulfilling life. Understanding this impact and healing our internal wounds, allows us to be more empowered and more effective when it comes to advocating for what's important for us. I also believe in an ongoing personal growth work. That's why I'm a therapist who has her own therapist and I attend several professional trainings a year to offer my clients the best possible support in their time of need.
