About My Clients
I have extensive experience working with female identifying clients who have experienced complex trauma. I specialize in working with domestic abuse survivors, sexual assault survivors, individuals & couples in the trans community, as well as adolescents. I enjoy working with clients who are interested in working on their relationship with themselves and dedicated to rewriting trauma narratives.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#1378) and clinical fellow of the American Association for Marriage & Family Therapy. I received her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy from Colorado State University. I am an EMDR therapist, level 1 IFS therapist, as well as a level 1 Gottman trained therapist. I am also an AAMFT Approved Supervisor (#143881) and I balance my time between seeing clients and supervising other therapists working towards licensure. In addition, I have experience teaching collegiate undergraduate courses at both Colorado State University and Front Range Community College. I also have experience in a supervisor role for graduate students in the Marriage and Family Therapy program at Colorado State University.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that every person is beautiful, unique and deserves support in facing life’s challenges. I use a strengths-based approach to therapy and believe that people are geared toward healing and growth. As a basis of therapy, I use a family systems approach. This approach maintains that we are all interconnected; relationships, families and societal influences all impact who we are, and lasting change comes from a deeper understanding of these connections. I also believe in the importance of cultivating the relationship we have with ourselves. While promoting self-compassion, I help clients better understand themselves, their needs, and their deepest aspirations.
