About My Clients
I have helped people struggling with issues such as depression, anxiety, mood disturbances, grief and personality disorders, crisis management, family and other relationship conflicts, educational advocacy, navigating systems of care, life transitions, confusion around careers and life choices and any other challenges a person feels is creating barriers to their life satisfaction.
My Background and Approach
Early on, I received a BFA in Art. I used those skills in my practice after completing a MA in Expressive Art Therapies and Multicultural Art Education. After working for 10 years and being further trained in trauma, behavioral modification and family systems, I returned to college, receiving a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (CAGS). I am a nationally certified Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (TF-CBT) with training in DBT, EMDR and other evidenced based modalities.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I strive to meet people where they are at in a non-judgmental, supportive manner, encouraging people to set their own goals. I work to help others identify their strengths that they can build from and recognize the resources and supports around them. I encourage as well as challenge. I work to help others see things in different ways so they can identify and explore all their options. I support, but I do not tell, knowing that the only one who truly knows what is right for someone is them self.
