About My Clients
Have you ever felt depressed, and felt guilty for feeling this way? Have you ever felt like you were afraid to do something because of the intense anxiety that was bound to sneak up? Have you ever felt you had so much on your plate that you didn't even know where to begin with it all? These issues, and everything in between, are more common than you may think - you are not alone! I look forward to walking through these things, and helping you to finding some relief.
My Background and Approach
I have been providing therapy for over 12 years. I have a Masters in Counseling from Campbell University, and a BA in Psychology and Communication Studies from University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. Prior to becoming a therapist, I started my career as a school counselor in public schools. I have also worked in community mental health, providing a wide range of services. My passion is helping others achieve their goals, and that is why I take a partnership approach to therapy. We will work together to ensure that you are moving forward in your progress. I use a wide variety of techniques that are specific to you. These include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focus Technique, and Person Centered. I work to ensure that you feel safe, by providing a space from judgement. My approach is laid back, and it will feel more like a conversation. This is part of ensuring that you are as comfortable as possible.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe we all have the ability and capacity to make positive change in our lives. My own experiences taught me that no matter how dark things can seem, nothing has to be permanent.
