I specialize in helping transgender, polyamorous, and LGBTQ individuals and families.
My Background and Approach
I have over 18 years in mental health work. I started in residential treatment and have worked most of that time for state facilities or in community mental health. I started working in private practice in 2019 with Hope Development Practice under Abby White, LMFT. In 2020, I graduated with my MA from Antioch University - Seattle. My approach to therapy is deeply integrated. I incorporate health at any size, sex positivity, person-centered paradigms into my clinical approach. I combine theories from each area of my credentials, for example: As a Creative Arts Therapist, I encourage clients to step beyond the limitations of verbal defenses into their subconscious machinations. In session, we use various visual, tactile, movement, and creative directives. These directives are designed to get you into your body and the present moment first. Here we can establish a working safe place to return to as we work through the stressors, anxieties, traumas, and even day to day frustrations.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a strong supporter and member of the LGBTQ, transgender, polyamorous, and neurodivergent communities. I am a fervent believer in the power of self-awareness, meditation, and mindfulness. When not at work, I participate in social justice efforts, enjoy the outdoors, video game, and create. I do have multiple disabilities and an American Pitbull for a service dog. Her name is Rumi Rae. She is present with me most of the time. Rumi is very loving and wants to be everyone's friend, however I ask that you do not make advances toward her, including eye contact. Please do not interact with her unless you have asked me and have been given permission. This is foundational to service dog training and etiquette. I appreciate your cooperation. The only time you might interact with her out of this situation is if she is in vest and is approaching you alone. This means I may need help and can't get it myself. In this situation, please follow her back to me.
