About My Clients
I am here for you and want to help you understand yourself and live your most authentic life. Sometimes our past struggles or our anxieties about the future stifle us and we need help processing experiences and sorting expectations. I have a deep appreciation for the human experience, varied and vast, and work with clients across all the spectrums, including physical, neurological, spiritual, and philosophical. My specialties include relationship, sex, and family therapy.
My Background and Approach
I have a research background in neuroscience, behavior, and psychology across several animal species, including humans. My focus has always been communication - how we develop our communication styles and how these ultimately serve or hinder us. My multi-theoretical approach is to get to know you deeply while collaboratively and fluidly designing a plan to help you reach your goals. I derive my methods from psychodynamics, cognitive behavioral therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy, to name a few influences. Mostly, my approach is non-judgmental, open-minded, and ever curious about what makes you you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My personal beliefs are rooted in my own experience growing up as a minority in a country with a difficult past. I was raised to stand up for those marginalized and speak out in the face of injustice. I engage in various volunteer and charity activities (including suicide prevention hotlines, animal shelters, community kitchens, and environmental justice). It is my priority to bring these values into my practice when working with you. Most importantly, I strongly believe that accessing mental health services should not be seen as a luxury or involve jumping through complicated hoops. I strive to create a straightforward, efficient, and fair working relationship fuelled by empathy and appreciation for your uniqueness.
