About My Clients
My ideal clients are people living with chronic illness/disabilities, those desiring grief work, couples counseling or those who want spiritually-integrated counseling.
My Background and Approach
I'm a social work therapist, using a whole picture view of a person's well-being. My therapeutic approach is eclectic, but I use CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing and psychoeducation/bibliotherapy the most. I'm also an ordained Presbyterian USA minister--a progressive Protestant denomination. However, having served an an interfaith chaplain I have knowledge and experience of working with people from a variety of traditions including those who identify as agnostic or atheist. I love to work with clients to see how their spirituality may be a resource in their mental health treatment goals.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I personally identify with the disability community and this is the cause I'm most passionate about. Other causes that are especially important to me are LGBTQIA+ rights, healthcare reform, environmental concerns, racial minority rights, immigrant rights, domestic violence prevention, and feminist concerns.
